Besides scheduled air carriers, what kind of operations use certified dispatchers?
Do corporate/fractional ops use them or does the pilot do all the preparation?
What about on-demand charter ops or air ambulances?
I am cosidering enrolling in a dispatch school and am wondering what sort of opportunity exists beyond the obvious airlines.
It depends on the individual operator. The big Frax companies have dispatchers on staff, as do many large corporate operators. Charter companies vary widely, with some having dispatchers, and others making the pilots do everything.
BION, all of the major credit card companies have dispatchers on staff for certain clients.
Most of the larger aircraft leasing companies have dispatchers on their staff.
Aeromedical transport companies use dispatchers.
