Five people were hurt but no one suffered life-threatening injuries, State Police Cpl. J.K. Cooper said. All were aboard a 1979 Beech 58 that was returning from Morgantown to Bluefield.

The Beckley Register-Herald reported the victims were coming back from the West Virginia University-University of Maryland football .
game.

“Well, the first thing I saw was the plane coming out of the sky, and right as I said, ‘I believe that thing is going to crash,’ it struck the western end of the house,” Smith said. “To be honest, I’m just glad no one was killed. With the looks of the plane, you would think it was a lot worse.”

Smith ran to the plane and helped some of the victims out of the plane.
