I am planning my first trip and just booked my flight to Argentina. I am excited but also trying to figure out how to plan my time.
For those who have been to Buenos Aires, did it live up to your expectations? Is walking around San Telmo and visiting La Boca really a must, or does it feel too touristy?
Visited there a few years ago. Tour the opera house (Teatro Colon), beautiful. Also, visit La Recoleta Cemetery Evita burial site (somewhat touristy). Try the Argentina steak while you are there.-- best steak I have ever had.
I flew into Buenos Aires a few days ago from Australia via Auckland.
I had one full day there organizing stuff and I’m now on a boat south of the Antarctic circle having successfully traversed the Drake Passage.
I can’t tell you anything about Buenos Aires but i have seen whales, seals and penguins.
It’s snowing.
