Filters or LNA for RTL-SDR v3 - Availability in India/Shipment to India

Hi All, Its about a month since my last update.

I have made few corrections to the 12 elem coco by replacing the top element and I did see major improvements over 8 elem coco.

The top element is now 1/2 wavelength + 1/4 wavelength center conductor up in the air along with its dielectric(cut at the bottom - so no contact with 1/2 wavelength dielectric).

The 1/4 center conductor not shorted to the shield as I didn’t found any major difference even with a resistor in between.

But I did found the message rate is getting differed when adjusting/moving the dielectric vertically on the 1/4 wave center conductor(Not sure what kind of logic applying here)

I have ordered an Filtered LNA mentioned above and its still in transit.

I’ve received the filtered LNA last Sunday and did a trial run on the setup. I can see many more messages and planes in my Radar(almost 60-70% improvement). But still need to check one thing with all you @abcd567 @wiedehopf @geckoVN.

There are 18 aircraft’s and 16 of them giving positions. But if you look at the messages, its 85/sec and I’m not sure if its very low or average when there are many aircrafts in the sky.

Are there any standard message rates or what all are the readings from your radar’s.

18ac : 85m/s is not unreasonable. I’m currently seeing 12ac : 39m/s (it’s a quiet time of night)

Message rates depend a lot on interrogations from ATC.
In Europe message rates are generally higher.
