I’d like to suggest that the aircraft code “787” be described as Boeing 787-8 or perhaps just generic Boeing 787. Both ANA and China Southern are using this designation for B-787 flights that are domestic within Japan and China respectively. I’ve seen as many as 6 of these in the air simultaneously. Currently there is no aircraft description associated with the use of this code. Thanks for considering.
When the carriers send us ambiguous codes we don’t like to flag them as any specific model. The 787-9 will be in service in not too long and they may use “787” for it.
