Knew this one was coming. This is based off the BAW 777 incident at EGLL a while ago when it crashed on final. It’s based on the fuel-icing problem that was discussed many times over here, at A.net, JP.net, and other places. But now, it’s official.
Additionally, the NTSB has stated that RR is working on a full redesign of the fuel-oil heat exchanger, once again, based off the BAW incident and a DAL incident which had a similar problem.

Seeing that most B777s out there use RR engines, this is going to affect a lot of carriers.
