FA Dump1090 error/problems

I have recently upgraded to PiAware 3.50 and feeding data seems to be fine. However, when I try to view live data I keep getting the following error message from FA dump1090. Can anyone help?

Problem fetching data from Dump1090. AJAC call failed (error: Forbidden). Maybe dump1090 is no longer running?

Thanks

Nigel

Try clearing your browser’s cache.

Failing that, how did you first install dump1090-fa and how did you upgrade it?

No improvement after clearing the cache

I installed dump1090-fa following the instructions on your website

Which URL are you using?
:8080 (May or may not work)
OR
/dump1090-fa/ (Sure works)

Thank you!! All working now  I was using :8080 but just tried /dump1090-fa/ and that has worked

Thank you again, much appreciated

If :8080 is returning Forbidden (403) but the port 80 path is OK then it might be a proxy problem where the proxy refuses to make connections to port 8080.

Port :8080 does not return forbidden. It shows Skyview map with "Problem fetching data from dump1090."
Port :80 redirects to /graphs.php, the performance graphs of Web Portal (JProchazka)

Sure, with a reason of Forbidden; it is that Forbidden that I’m referring to.

Since you can apparently reproduce this (I can’t) - what do you get if you try to fetch 192.168.0.22:8080/data/aircraft.json ?
And what exactly is your install?

My Install:
Piaware 3.5 image + Planefinder feeder + Flightradar24 feeder + Adsbexchange feeder + Performance Graphs (Web Portal by JProchazka)

Yep, there’s the Forbidden as expected…

My Install:
Piaware 3.5 image + Planefinder feeder + Flightradar24 feeder + Adsbexchange feeder + Performance Graphs (Web Portal by JProchazka)

I would guess that something in that mix has broken the dump1090-fa lighttpd config, but I can’t say what in particular - you’ll need to do your own diagnosis.

Just ran command “uname -a” to confirm version:

Just verified that the 3.5.0 sdcard image works correctly, so the problem is caused by your additional modifications.

Looks it is Web Portal. It modifies behaviour of lighttpd and the pointers to home page.

When I will do fresh install next time, I will test :8080 and :80 before installing the Web Portal and other data feeders.

Tonight due to crash of Pi, I had to format microSD card & write Piaware 3.5 image.
This time I did not install Web Portal / Performance graphs, and yes :8080 (as well as /dump1090-fa) brings Skyview, and :80 brings PiAware Status page.
It is now clear that it is the Web Portal which modifies the behaviour of lighttpd and home page pointers.

(The screenshot shows very few planes, as it was taken at 2:24 AM, and here 2 AM to 4 AM is minimum traffic period).

Looks like the settings in lighttpd for the adsb-portal are preventing /data from being used so it causes the :8080 version to not work. Commenting out the HTTP[“remoteip”] section in 89-adsb-portal.conf will allow the :8080 version to work again.
