…I’m not sure, but it may have departed last night…at sunset…all “mystery planes” take off at sunset you know…
I know you’re joking but it makes sense for a “mystery aircraft” to depart at sunset if it’s heading east to Europe or the mid-east. It gets the high mucky mucks to their destination during the day. Heaven forbid that they should get there during the middle of the night like common folks.

…I was standing west of LAX monday at sunset…and as I was going to sit in my car I saw a plane depart from southern fields…definitely a “secret” plane…you might know about it, a Boeing 727…yes, but with a modified “bird’s beak” type nose…
…and although I had my camera and I did take a shot and the light was absolutely great, I deleted the shot…reach of tele wasn’t enough…
It’s a “research plane” I’m told…
Military aircraft do come and go now and then to and from LAX and they tend to arrive or leave at sunset or early in the morning…I’ve “caught” them a couple of times…
