Will start by changing message subject as previous post (Abnormal delay from actual position) can not be corrected till this one is.
Just started tracking DAL1327 CMH-LAX at 7:20 pm EDT. Data associated with flight stated 104 miles down in 21 minutes of flight. Flight Aware depicted position was about 40 SM west of CMH.
7:21 pm update: 22 minutes into flight 121 miles down. FA depicted position: vicinity of RID Indiana(about 125 SM west of CMH)
7:23 pm update: 24 minutes into flight 130 miles down. FA depicted position: still vicinity of RID Indiana
7:25 pm update: 33 minutes into flight 147 miles down. FA depicted position: still vicinity of RID Indiana
7:26 pm update: 35 minutes into flight 155 miles down. FA depicted position: still vicinity of RID Indiana
7:27 pm update: 36 minutes into flight 172 miles down. FA depicted position: still vicinity of RID Indiana
Between updates, aircraft track inches forward(westward) from RID position, but the updates place it back at former position (RID vicinity) even though data indicates movement.
Based on the above, one can not tell where the aircraft really is (or should be) on Flight Aware, let alone what the delay is between depiction and actual over the ground position.
