EK flight flying over Syrian airspace ?

Hi,

I am new to this forum and this site looks excellent.

I was tracking EK148 (AMS-DXB) and saw on the site the plane was flying over NE of Syria ? Is this correct ? I thought Syrian airspace is closed for general aviation.

The airspace isn’t totally closed, only to aircraft from certain countries.
EK isn’t general aviation, it is an airline.
That particular airway is under Ankara ACC control through Syria.
