EG475

Was on EGF475 (American Eagle DFW-AMA) last night (April 2nd), had to return to DFW cuz the Tow guys forgot to remove the tether from the nose gear. Luckily, the Captain heard it banging on the fuselage. Needed about 8000’ to stop the plane on the runway though. I think it was wrapped in the brakes. Taxied back with an entourage of emergency vehicles. Had to make sure the gear were stable enough to deplane before we got off. Took about an hour to get another plane (already closed up for the night). Got into Amarillo about midnight.

AA seemed to in general have had a bad day yesterday, lots of delays and equipment changes.

How big of an object is the actual tether? Anyone have a picture?
