Edwards AFB activity

Interesting to follow the activity into and out of Edwards AFB.

Like this U-2 flying at FL600+, above class A airspace.
And, as dicussed before, a few F-18 flights, like this one doing 535knots over the ground, 800nm in and hour and a half. (not really that amazing, but still interesting to follow)

Uh, James. The linky is the same one as the U-2.

The U-2 is a VERY good climber. FL600 in 28 minutes! (2140 fpm avg.)

Very interesting…

Fixed.

I was flying near Sacramento the other day when ATC said to me, U2 departing now 2 o’clock and 5 miles, climbing across your flight path from 0 to FL600. You won’t even see him, but thought I’d let you know anyway.

…Like a homesick angel!

Amazing airplane. A guy i know on another forum flies them, he has good stories.

A friend of mine flew them as well and the stories are terrific. He used to call out to a tower below him that he was coming down to FL6000 and they’d tell him to quit joking around. Then he’d pop onto their radar.
