Difference between "Positions Reported" and "Positions Reported by Distance"

----RESOLVED----
What is the difference between “Positions Reported” and “Positions Reported by Distance from Receiver” when a specific day is selected on the “Positions Reported by Distance from Receiver” date bar at the top of the graph.

Here I’m looking at 4/1/2018 and Positions Reported is at 747,475 and the total of all the positions on the graph are only 207,396.

I realize that positions reported is UTC but even if the graph was based on local time for the date selected it should be higher.

I’ve searched the post but haven’t seen this brought up.

Thx

Hate it when I post something and then see the answer is “ADS-B planes only”

Just wait until 2020 when most planes will need ADSB to fly.
