DAL substitution for COM on 12/26

I have noticed that many usual Comair flights to CVG have been substituted with DAL B738’s on December 26.

I know we all have our theories why this might be, but does anyone have any firm knowledge of why this was?

Was it a labor issue with COM flightcrews or was it simply DAL trying to increase capacity on these dates at times where they thought they would need it?

Have you ever been on the inside of an airport the day after Christmas? They have to move people somehow and it will happen a heck of a lot quicker on 150 seat Boeings than it will on 50 seat RJ’s.

My friend was on one of those flights though (DTW-CVG DAL9705) and said there was only ~20 people on it.
