Daddy-son project round 2- connecting to home wifi

The Pi3 B+ has:

1.4GHz 64-bit quad-core processor, dual-band wireless LAN, Bluetooth 4.2/BLE, faster Ethernet, and Power-over-Ethernet support (with separate PoE HAT)

I’m using 5 GHz so i’m quite certain it’s working

Yes, but only the 3B+ has 5Ghz.
The 3 has only 2.4Ghz.

I have raspberry Pi B. I have tried both 5 and 2.4 GHz. So I’m really really not sure wi-fi is not working. Any leads much appreciated. I am ok with the ethernet cable for the short-term, but I would rather avoid this ethernet cable clogging up the space forever.

Oh displaying the config file also needs root
sudo cat /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa-roam.conf

Anyway the interface is offline which is really strange. Getting a second SD-card and try again from scratch would be easiest and eliminates some possible errors.
