Just noticed that this Flight/AC combo has an identity crises.
On the inbound EDDF - KIAD it shows as B744
Out bound KIAD - EDDF it shows the proper B748
D-ABYA is definitely a 747-8 Intercontinental.
I think this has been posted before - on the inbound we don’t get an unambiguous aircraft type from the airline before departure, whereas we do on the return. We’re working with DLH and others to improve the aircraft types they send us.
It’s now more than 6 months ago and this annoying failure has not been solved.
The first flight into LAX of the 748 has also been indicated again as a 744, see :

My advice? If it’s so annoying, then don’t renew your membership and pay for the features offered here…
Failure? I think you need to write Lufthansa not Flight Aware.
