On my Pro Stick Plus I have discovered what appears to be corrosion coming from one of the capacitors. see pics below. Has anyone else ever had any issues with corrosion? Is there a warranty on the dongle that we know of? Thanks!
I don’t think it’s anything to worry about.
It looks soldering flux to me.
It’s common with PCB production that the SMT parts are assembled first and the Through-Hole parts are added by hand at the end of the line - leaving a small amount of flux residue. Look closely at the pins of the second electrolytic and the SMA connector and you’ll probably see some clear residue there too.
If it bothers you, you can wash it off with alcohol, PCB cleaner or just hot water.
White spots are leftover glue to affix C in place. Corrosion would rather happen on copper PCB. If it’s not there, there is no humidity problem at your location.
