why do college and pro teams only/mostly charter boeing jets?
Because the airlines they charter from operate mainly Boeing aircraft.
There are exceptions, of course. There’s been charters on USA 3000 and JetBlue, neither of which operate Boeing aircraft. I’ve also seen charters on legacy carriers (United, Delta, etc.) that were operated on Airbus equipment.
