He set a number of records in a UA 747SP (N149Ua) in 1988, whether he spent any time in the air in 1985 for UA would need to be researched somewhere else.
Not that it wasn’t a record, but it was only a record for about 25 days, a G-IV beat it a few weeks later. Good cause though.
He has lots of time and type ratings, but I have heard directly from guys that worked for him, that he has little respect for pilots. There are two sides to everything I suppose…
