Philip Greenspun is suggested as a VLJ mentoring pilot. He has a very interesting view on the proper way to land an airplane. The only thing that I question is not staying high enough in the pattern to always make the runway in the event of an engine failure. His opinions on staying low in order to avoid excess energy make a lot a sense but I fly planes that are subject to carb ice at low RPM and I would always want to be able to glide in from any point in the pattern.

This guy added a “multi rating to ATP” and also had his “first landing in a turbojet” in 2007! Oh yes, I’d just LOVE to hear his theories on how to land an airplane. Fly low to avoid excess energy? Are you f#*king kidding me???

Right. "Fly low to avoid excess energy. "As I mentioned, I don’t agree. But this guy is listed as a VLJ Mentor. That’s why I pointed it out. What am I missing?
