No, it’s not a secret. But the registrar/owner of the aircraft is wishing for some level of privacy. Why not give them what they request? It is, in fact, a simple request. Why share it? What are those reasons you speak of? Could you give me a few of these “reasons” you speak of?
I think you could probably google that yourself and learn all about the debate around these things. I’m willing to just ‘agree to disagree’ on it, as opposed to continuing to defend something that I don’t feel needs defending anyways.

Maybe he’s made up his mind, but maybe others have not. I have no horse in the privacy fight. At this point it seems pretty evident that you have some strong feelings about this as you’ve taken it upon yourself, to come up with a method which allows you to see and share some limited information about some blocked flights in a certain area. I admire that you have some gumption and figured that out.
Now, I’m not sure that it is necessary to start another thread about BARR as this thread already discusses blocked flights. A long standing flightaware member asked your reasoning for feeling the way you do. He wasn’t looking for an argument, just a discussion. This happens to be a discussion board. Your bailing on this discussion and suggesting we use google to understand your viewpoint is absurd. If you wish to continue to post flights, which is absolutely your prerogative, please be prepared to discuss the issues and concerns that go along with the information you are posting.
I have no problem discussing it with someone who is interested in an actual discussion and hasn’t already decided that they’re right and I’m wrong. At first the discussion appeared to be about the ‘value’ of this information (the comparison to learning Klingon), which I was interested in discussing. I’m not interested in having a discussion about my moral obligation to keep this information to myself, though. I’m also not a staunch anti-privacy advocate or anything like that. I do happen to feel the BARR list is a little silly since the information is so easily obtainable, but like yourself, I don’t really care strongly one way or another. There are already plenty of threads discussing the matter. I wasn’t suggesting the other poster use google to understand MY viewpoint - he asked for some arguments against flight blocking, and I don’t feel it’s my job to provide him with those. Either way, I’m not a big fan of arguing on the internet, which is often futile, but I don’t think you need to be making a statement about your stance on an issue just to post when a plane took off and where it went. Heck, you could be for strengthening the BARR list and use this thread as an example of why.
If you were posting a spotting report from an airfield, I doubt you would take the time to figure out which planes were blocked and omit those. Please view my posts as being more akin to that. Obviously the flights that aren’t blocked can be easily retrieved via FA, so it wouldn’t make sense to post those. My other interest is just in the ‘is it possible’ question, which as you’ve pointed out, I seem to have proven with my first few posts - although I’m still wondering if someone out there might find this and point out a correction, which would be interesting. As I responded to you earlier, I didn’t intend on keeping this running forever, although with as many people asking for it to continue as there are ambivalent/against it, I’ll keep it going for a little bit. Maybe the poster who is against it can ask them why they like the info?

Question, on this one N888CE F2TH departed KBED 1911z arrived TIST 2244z, how do you know it arrived at TIST? Are you still tracking it with your setup that far away or do you get that info from other mode-s trackers in that area?
