Auto-Claim feature is failing because it's looking for a v4 when the client is connected with v6

What’s going on guys?

The auto-claim feature is failing because it’s looking at my v4 for a tie-in, yet the Linux client is (quite correctly) connected to FA via v6.

Seems like a bit of a goof going on here

None of my sites have ever “auto claimed”. I’ve always had to claim manually.

Remember, you must be logged into your account from the same network as the device you are trying to claim,

It’s a known limitation (it will look at v6 – but you’re unlikely to be claiming from the same v6 address that the Pi is on).

You should use the UUID-based claim link on the piaware status page instead, which doesn’t care about addresses at all; that’s the preferred way to claim a new feeder these days.

(If you’re not using the piaware sdcard image and so don’t have a status page, some jumping through hoops is required - let me know if you need to do that)

Yes I realise now it’s somewhat tricky as all v6 clients have a different address

It’s all sorted now, support were excellent and replied quickly. I couldn’t find an option at the time to use the UUID but I will do in future if setting up another site.

Thanks!
