Why is it that no airline(Except for UA and Hawaiian and Co from GUM) fly to Australia from the mainland?
There’s a limited number of airlines that can fly between the USA and Australia.
GUM is not on the mainland.
Hawaiian doesn’t fly from the mainland to Australia. THey fly between HNL and SYD.
QF (Qantas - note: NO “U” in Qantas) flies nonstop between the mainland and Australia.
NZ (Air New Zealand) flies nonstop between the mainland and Australia.
srry, i meant US Carriers
Years ago, I asked a friend of mine that works at American Airlines about this. What was going on at that time is that Qantas has a massive stronghold on the direct market. Combine that with code sharing, this would probably be one of the reasons.
