Can anyone explain the need for the convoluted arrival pattern (last 20 miles or so) for JL009 ORD-HND? I have tracked it for several weeks and it repeats daily.
Look up the STAR (Standard Arrival) Procedures for the airport.
There could be many reasons like noise abatement, restricted areas, obstacle clearance, wildlife areas, hospitals, other airports etc.
Thanks – I have yet to experience a landing pattern as convoluted as this one.
