I recently upgraded my Raspberry PI4 to a CM4. The CM4 was being used for a KVM but I repurposed it to Piaware since my current PI4 started to have intermittent lock up issues. I have gone through using PI Zero early days to PI 2B and then 3B+ then PI4 in a 5 year period. All of those somehow started acting up after long streaks of no issues. I think the reliance on SD cards being most of the culprit but maybe just long term use of 24x7 and in not the most hospitable environment. I have my setup mounted in the garage so subject to Florida Heat and humidity. I am hoping the CM4 is better suited since it uses onboard eMMC memory and the working temperature range is better than the regular Pis. It is also fan cooled. Just curious. The case and carrier is the CmRat Carrier Board Which allows POE.
So is correct to assume you got the CM4 with the CM4 heatsink with the PWM fan?
The fan I used is not PWM it is being powered by two pins +5v. The fan was repurposed from my KVM as well as the heatsink. A big plus for me the fan used in the KVM is better quality than the PI 4 standard fan used in their case. It is quiet.
