I have noticed this for a long time, but never mentioned. When looking at KTUL, there are always the same thunderstorms near Vance Afb. Even when no storms are in the area. It is a strange constant.
I see something similar on the NOAA radar site near Travis AFB, Fairfield California. In that case it is doppler radar being fooled by the rotating blades in a wind farm. YMMV
The false readings match the location of wind farms in the area.
