Airport gate taxi-in lines

Is there any kind of minimum or standard length for the taxi-in lines on the ramps at individual gates? Certainly the line must be long enough to get the airplane established on it and then properly aligned before reaching the nosewheel stop mark but are there established criteria as to how long that line should be…under normal “strasight-in” circumstances.

You answered your own question…when you park any size a/c, as long as it follows the lead in line right on the money and you stop it right on the correct mark…she’s in. Gates in certain instances may be able to accomidate up to a certain size a/c within the “Safety” zone…which also has specific markings on a ramp. Also, in most airports where fuel is pumped by a hydrant system, most fuel pits are set up to accomidate the range of aircraft which may use that gate.

ALSO, go check out the IATA web site, they might have a pdf. to illustrate further what you are asking about 8)
