Aero API Account Level and Status

Relatively new subscriber to Aero API. I’ve been an ADS-B feeder for awhile now, so figured I’d utilize the API for a pet project of mine and take advantage of my 10 dollar credit.

On July 31st, all of a sudden I couldn’t reach the API anymore. logged on and saw that my subscription had switched from “Personal” to “None”. I tried re-subscribing to personal, and it would remain saying “none” even after processing my order. Tried a few times, then reached out to support.

Support gave no timeline for the fix. I logged on and saw that it had switched from “None” to “AeroAPI Standard__Rev 2”, whatever that means. And when I come to think of it, thats a higher tier subscription that I never wanted nor agreed to. When I try to cancel it “something went wrong”, and when I go to my subscriptions, I have like 6 personal subscirptions in the list, and no “AeroAPI Standard__Rev 2”. The “AeroAPI Standard__Rev 2” only appears on my billing page, not the subscription manager page. I was able to cancel all but one of the “Personal” subscritptions (I wanted to keep one). But my account still says I have a standard subscirption (you know…the one requiring a MINIMUM 100 dollar spend, which I do not want).

There is no solution in sight, and its crazy that a company like flightaware has kinda pushed my support request to the side saying theres no timeline and alleging that this is a “widespread issue” that has no solution yet. But if it is widespread, why have I not heard that ANYONE else is experiencing this issue.

Am I alone? Could someone from flightaware help me? Absolutely ridiculous…

Hey! I have same problem with ‘Subscription: None’. Started on 2nd of August, I got 403 for all requests, even trying from the API docs. Support replied with ‘we aren’t able to provide an estimated time for resolution yet’ so waiting for better days
