I was a PAX on EI 125 ON 7/14 from DUB to ORD and less than 2 minutes from arrival in ORD we climbed out. The pilot later reported there was insufficient separation from the aircraft ahead.

I have flown on perhaps 1000 or more commercial flights and this is the first time it has happened on a flight I was on. How frequent are go-arounds these days?

Go-arounds are pretty normal nowadays, but its always interesting to be on board when one occurs. I imagine it was interesting as you were on a widebody.

Yes - it was surprising how quickly we transitioned from landing configuration to a fairly steep climb out.
