AFAIK FlightAware doesn’t sell “kits”.

Where did you get it from? There is no official “FA kit”.
The ones sent by FA are for people accepted as feeders.
I know that some stores offer this special “FA kit”, but it’s simply a Raspberry with FA stick and antenna.

I took advantage of the 20% off and free shipping from the official FA store during the Black Friday sale to pick up a FA 1090 and FA 978 antenna. They were shipped by USPS Priority Mail. The tracking shows that it was actually picked up in Houston, TX, which is where FA is located. It took 3 days to get to FL.
Their official FA kits might ship from a different location.
FA does a pretty good of hiding the FA store. It is located in the main web page under the “ADS-B” menu. I only knew about it because of the occasional FA e-mail or blog announcement. FA might want to consider giving the official FA store a more prominent location on the site so it is easier to find.
