A.A. Says Asking for Orange Juice may Violate Federal Law

Don’t know if this is the proper place for this article, but I found it interesting…

kossome.com/?q=node/131

According to the author of this story, he was on an American Airlines flight, the guy in front of author’s wife got “a written warning” from the pilot, because he asked for Orange Juice and the flight attendent went off on him. Check out the article for the whole story.

All I can say is that this lady needs to leave the airline industry, or should of just called out sick if she was having a really bad day.

I find it odd that he’s the only one who complained. I know not everyone will go to this site, but that’s a pretty long winded letter, about alot going on for there to only be one person complaining. If he complained to AA, I would imagine many others would have too, and they would have probably offerred something due to the numbers complaining, and the guy wouldn’t be writing. Not to say he didn’t have a rude FA (the other kind, not this site), but I think someone might be tryin for an emmy here.

My belief the guy was pissed he couldn’t get what he wanted when he wanted, and came up with great story to get people angry at AA for it.
It’s pretty editorial about her not wanting to be there and how calm all his friends were when trying to discuss it with her.

From the article:

There were 60 of us traveling between the 6:00am and 6:15am flight to Dallas alone. About 25 were on flight #614.

American does not have a 6:00 a.m. and 6:15 a.m. from SMF to DFW. The 6:00 a.m. flight is the first flight. THe next flight on Sundays is 8:00 a.m. (source: American Airlines timetable effective 1 Dec 09).

There’s something fishy about this article that I can’t put my finger on.

Paw…

I fly about 30 to 60 segments a year for the past 8 years. All on American.

I can count on one hand the number of times I have seen an FA “go off” on somebody who probably didn’t deserve it. Seriously, it’s amazing how many people I see in first who think their crap doesn’t stink and that the FA’s number one job is to keep their glass of scotch filled up during the flight.

It’s pretty darn easy to give them a smile and hello when you get on the plane, be nice to them, and they’ll treat you great.

One thing that bothers me about this article is that I haven’t seen it reported elsewhere. If there was 30 people you know at least one of them would have ran to the media. I found it repeated verbatim (or nearly so) in a few blogs.

This Koss guy is in media production. He is bound to know people in the news media. Why didn’t he report it to them?

He may just be a clown who wants his 6 upgrades back.

If it isn’t, it should be, considering the price paid to be in first. The bigger seat and extra legroom is nice, but service should also be exemplary.

Not the case when flying first to SLC on Delta with SLC based crews. They get really “temperant” after a couple gin and tonics, and they will give you a lecture…so I’ve heard :imp:

Don’t take cm5299’s quote out of context! The full quote is

Seriously, it’s amazing how many people I see in first who think their crap doesn’t stink and that the FA’s number one job is to keep their glass of scotch filled up during the flight

In other words, the number one reason for flight attendants is safety of the passengers. That said, I do not believe that a flight attendant should be rude, crude, or uncivil.

Apparently, Delta got wind of this and has offered Gold status to those on board the American Airlines flight.

No way would the FA go into the cockpit on a domestic flight when she could have used the intercom to talk to the PIC. Methinks there’s more to this story, or at least another side to it that we all haven’t heard…

Joe

I will admit, after really thinking about it, and reading the story…something smells fishy.

No way would the FA go into the cockpit on a domestic flight when she could have used the intercom to talk to the PIC.

Good point, unless for some reason it wasn’t working, which is possible.
