3 out of 4 feeder "degraded" using ADSB.im (SOLVED)

I am doing a temporary set up of a new feeder using ADSB.IM I have currently selected FA, F24, ADSB.lol and ADSBx. I have claimed my UUID from FA. I am only getting an “ENABLE” status on the F24 and all the others are “DEGRADED”. Why would this be? I am adding a screen shot of my set up and the report. I wonder if there is something more that I need to do on the other 3 accounts that are degraded. Even though my set up is less than ideal (cheap antenna outside 12 feet up on the wall of my shop in the country. Using a SDR with a RTL2832U chipset.
Since I am getting the enable status on the F24 and occassionally on the ADSB.LOL I would not think this is a set up issue but I am not sure. Thoughts?

It takes some time to get stable. Do you have MLAT enabled?

That is also counted in as a factor.

Check again in an hour or so to see if it has settled.

Otherwise @dirkhh might be able to assist since he created the program.

I appreciate the tips. I have two other FA feeders but this one is new to the ADSB.im set up. In short, I am trying to learn my way around “IM”. I know I checked all the MLAT boxes I came across but I do not see how to verify that on the IM page. May be that can only be checked individually?

Check the management page at the IP address the setup is living on.

On the top right side the options are available, logging can be found under system and there you can see the different logs for piaware, FR24 etc etc.

Then it wouldn’t show MLAT broken.

Typically this is just bad MLAT sync … doesn’t hurt to check the local FA status page (it’s linked right next to it)

And bad MLAT sync has the typical candidates … SDR not getting enough voltage / SDR is dying / SDR needs to be replugged.
Well and bad coordinates but considering FA coords are entered separately, seems unlikely.

I have tweaked my GPS location and now I have seen some more sites enabled and some MLAT improvement. I am going to give it some time. Voltage is good as shown on the logs.

Again, thank you.

Just to clarify, if someone can, is there a way to enter GPS coordinates in IM so it can update all the various accounts? (or does the GPS has to be updated (if necessary) individually on each account?

setup → basic

I’m not sure how to improve that to make it any easier to find.

My apologies for a terribly written question. Yes, I am very familiar with that. What I meant to write is whether or not updating the coordinates in that location would update the various accounts. The reason for that question is that after updating the Lat/long in the IM basic setup, I saw it update some accounts but not others. I was not sure if this was because some accounts take longer to update, or if there was something else I needed to do. I will watch over the next day or two to see if all the accounts catch up. Thank you!!!

My main goal is to get MLAT working…

FA needs to be set on their status page.

fr24 doesn’t have mlat and i don’t think that position can be changed after site creation.

Otherwise yes it will update.

Some sites usually just have broken MLAT on their side.

Thank you that helps. I had not paid close attention to the point on the GPS coordinates map on where it plotted my icon. when I did my first install. After some Enabling issues and reading more about the set up, I took a closer look and found my GPS coordinates were off by probably 800 feet. I think they are all good now. Ill look for some green enabled status on the different feeders over the coming days.

All good now, thanks to all who helped. Changing the GPS to be spot on seemed to be the fix.

From the configuration interface:

5 decimals should be a hint that it needs to be an exact location.
But maybe there needs to be other text.

@charosenz
Is https://my.adsb.im/ working for you now?
I saw your topic about it earlier.

Just a warning here, the '2832 chip is only half the story. The RF frontend also needs to be correct.
(your site is working, so you obviously have a good receiver)
There are a couple of options (like the fitipower FC00012, FC00013) that don’t cover 1090MHz.
Stay clear of these.

Thank you.

I was just using some off the shelf hardware for testing and using it to get to be more familiar with IM. I have made a proposal to put in a set up at another local airport that does not have any feeder set up. If the board approves, and they are willing to buy the hardware I will use good hardware at that time.

.
Thanks again.

Got it, thank you. things are all green now so I think I am good.

Even though I have all green enabled I just saw this note in the logs. that it does not have the feeder ID for ADSBX. But I have all green icons for ADSBX in the basic set up.

that’s just to display the adsbx link.
also fixed in beta.

Great. Ill ignore it for now. Thank you.
