Nice indeed.... But not yet certified and several years away from operation in customer airplanes.

Advantage: Gulfstream.

Damn Gulfstreamjcok! i'll show ya!

Kidding. I love both, , but the GLEX has 1270 less lbf to a larger, 7000 pound heavier airplane, though it still manages to inch out an extra 4 or so mph on the top speed... same cruise speed.

(GLEX 14,750 lbf ea, G550 15,385 lbf ea, 636 hp)

The best thing to do to my beloved GLEX is:

* Make it larger, mainly to hold more fuel to break the 7000nm ceiling, aim for 7250nm

* Slap the 16,500 lbf BR725-50s on it

* A modified wing may be needed to improve take-off performance... maybe, were no talking about the Porter here but 6120 ft seemed a bit much

Major stuff, yeah, I know, but you can't not improve your product because it'll take to long to get out... major improvements are necessary to stay afloat. Admit that the competition has the better product currently and do something about it...

Yeh, I know, I was comparing the 2 while typing that (why'd ya think i chose the 725? :P) , but they're down to 7000nm, but I just noticed, the G650 is only just over 1000lbs heavier, MTOW than the current GLEX. Maybe the proposed GLEX should stop playing with kids and go straight for the 17,000 lbf one, or 17,500 if available
