On AAL1995 into KORD today. Specific request came from the flight deck that ALL electronics been turned off due to possible interference with the type of approach we are shooting. Any comments from the peanut gallery on this?

Your flight landed on 27L. There is a special aircrew and special aircraft certification for one type of the ILS 27L approach.

Maybe this was it?

When making low visibility approaches, it is a requirement that the pilot make the announcement that all electronics be turned off, so as to avoid the very remote possibility of electrical interference.
