I'm not a pilot, just a curious observer. I'm curious about the long flights (10-15 hrs) that go up over the north pole. How much - if any - does the rotation of the earth effect the flight plan or flight time?

I'm not a pilot, especially an airline pilot, but I imagine that what the aircraft is flying over has no effect (generally speaking) on the flight plan or time.
