KMKCtypically serves general aviation and business jets, but recently I've noticed on flight aware and with my own eyes 757's and 737's landing there. It seems odd that airliners that carry 100+ passengers would be landing here instead of KMCI.

Actually, it was the norm for a while. IIRC, KMKC was a TWA hub at one point, before it was moved to KMCI. I believe one of their jets has a permanent home there (may be a B741, or a Connie, I can't remember). but those used to run out of the current configuration there.

STL was the TWA hub. Not sure if Kansas City, either MKC or MCI, was ever a true hub.

MKC was a maintenance location for TWA even after they had moved flight operations to MCI.

Actually, KMKC was the TWA hub. It all started there.

Sports charters?? I know when teams are playing the Royals (the Kansas City baseball team), those teams usually fly into MKC instead of MCI.

No. I'm sticking by what I said. Kansas City was never a hub for TWA. It was, at one a time, a focus city.

TWA's original headquarters was New York City. It was moved to Kansas City in 1931. In 1975 it was moved back to New York City. The headquarters was moved to Saint Louis about 1993.

They could be Business Jets. Quite a few 737 (We sell a lot of BBJ's) and 757s are Bizjets.

Not with those flight numbers.

As suggested, they are MLB charters, see:

How many BBJ's are there now?
