Carl Edwards was talking about getting one of these on his Facebook page for a little weekend fun. http://www.iconaircraft.com/index.html

Does anyone know if he is an investor or just an enthusiast?

An RCR flight was at my local airport today. Not sure what they were here for but I made the trip in the rain to check it out.

Update to my previous post

N270MK, N1MW have been sold recently and not registered to either driver.

N481JJ has not been registered to Jimmie in several years, since getting the G150.

Kevin Harvick is N29KH

Looks like N388JR in on hold! JRM Air out of Mooresville used to own it!

I believe Jr. is transferring from a Citation to probably something newer as his last Citation was in the Plane Trader and had more hours than most commercial regional jets. Mr 5 time JJ cruises in a fine aircraft listed under Hendrick's airline.

Junior doesn't have a Citation. He has owned a Lear 60 for many years now- N8JR. JRM Air does have a Citation registered with the FAA, but it is actually Kasey Kahne's plane- N91KK. Kahne had to transfer registration for leasing purposes in Junior's hangar.

I think you're probably referencing Dale Jarrett's Citation- N88DJ. It has been for sale for a couple of years now, but it has also been used by Martin Truex, Jr. on occassion. I did notice that Dale Jarrett used it for a trip to the ESPN studios on Monday of this week.

Wonder if Biffle took a ride to check on the status of the repairs to N116GB?

This is a piece I took out of an interview between Kenny Wallace and SBNATION.COM.

SBN: Everybody likes to make a quick escape from the track and beat the traffic after the race. Any memorable experiences doing that?

KWallace: Yep, and it was that race you asked me about earlier – at Loudon, New Hampshire. Schrader had fallen out of the race, and I flew with him all the time. So I knew the deal.

Dale Earnhardt started all that, you know. Back in those days, there were so many more airplanes because everybody had an airplane. At least now, some drivers fly with their teams – like Martin Truex, he flies with his team. But if you didn't get to the airport, you'd line up on the runway with 30 planes in line, all going pbrrrrrr (imitates propeller sound).

SBN: So you think there are actually fewer planes now than there used to be?

KWallace: Before, it was a fad; it was a status symbol. You had to have a plane, you had to have a gold Rolex watch back in the late '90s.

I admire Martin Truex. He makes $6 million, $8 million bucks a year, but his father, Mr. Truex, has got him grounded. He built a nice shop, but he doesn't have his own airplane. And a lot of other guys could probably afford bigger airplanes.

You've got a handful of characters like my friend Denny Hamlin. Love him to death, but he overboards it. He's crazy. We laugh at him all the time. I love him, but he should have a sign that says, 'Look at my fuckin' airplane!'

Then I get on Jimmie Johnson all the time. I've seen him get off his airplane before by himself! He deserves it, of course, but it's an airplane that 10 people could probably get up and walk around in. He landed in Richmond and I laughed at him. I said, 'You mean to tell me that you didn't ask me to fly with you?' It was hilarious.

I think there are less private airplanes now, partly because the teams have stepped up. See, back then, the teams didn't have airplanes. Now all the teams have them, so a lot of these drivers would just be wasting $2 million or $3 million bucks a year by not using the team planes. Just wasting it.

It looks like Carl maybe selling N573CM or reregistering with a new #. I have not been able to find any listing but I know a few weeks ago he thanked Cessna for getting him home. Don't really know what that means but I am assuming it wasn't in his own plane. Any idea if he is upgrading or maybe moving to a fractional? I know his family has expanded in the past year so maybe he has to go bigger?

I've heard him mention a few times that he really wants a CJ3. I highly doubt he'd buy into a fractional.

It appears the the PO Box for N573CM (Registration Pending) matches N607F (Carl Edwards LLC). Maybe just taking out of Santini Air and now registered to Carl Edwards.

So now that Cousin Carl has signed a new deal with Roush, who wants to guess at what his purchase will be?? My guess is he'll upgrade to a CJ4 before the end of the year.

Tony Stewart N500TS used the new "DOT CON" on his trip to Pocono, but didn't on the way back.

According to the FAA Contractions publication, it's "dot com," not "dot con."

I can't believe Tony's plane is not blocked.. It's been blocked as long as I've been messing with Flightaware.
But I'm glad it's not.. :D

Planes can only be blocked for security reasons now not privacy, hence many planes have been unblocked since Aug 2nd.

That is what I thought as well, but if you look at the listing, it is Dot Con! Who knows!
