I agree they operate Boeing for employee transport--but didn't they sell these off to the Air Force and Southwest?

Also, does anyone know why Ford utilizes such a mixed bag of a fleet?

They have G5's, Falcon 2000s, Falcon 900s, etc. Why not just operate one fleet type (GLEX, CL60, CL30) (G550, GIV, G200, G150) (FA7X, F900, F2TH) to streamline maintenance, crew training, etc?

Currently as far as I can tell, Ford Motor Company no longer has a flight department at all??

The remaining jets N330K Falcon 2000, N300K Gulfstream V, and N301K Gulfstream V were transferred to Executive Jet Management Inc., I've no idea if that was a separate company spun off of Ford Motor Company to avoid public scrutiny or if it's sold altogether - maybe someone else has an update??

They've several Gulfstreams over the years, and they did have a fleet of Falcon 900's for a while - but went back to Gulfstreams.

Here are afew jets from their past;

RJ100

Fokker F-28

Falcon 900

B737-700

Gulfstream II

Falcon 2000

Gulfstream GV

I have been to the FBO ford last summer and the Line guy said that they still fly the airplanes but transferred them to a mgnt company.
They never borrowed money from the government so I don't know why they did that inless it transfers liability to the mgnt. company.

We are buying a Ford in May, Becky will be driving a Ford Escape Hybrid (look for the cloud of smug) 8)

SN 60 & 12 are both on the market with under 700TT.

SN60 asking $49m.

Wonder why they're dumping these?

Saw your photo on Flickr and Twitter!!, along with another shot of the same plane landing in Texas from another poster.

Wicked, paint scheme, rarely do you get really rich with taste!, but in this case - Wow that is way kool.

Too bad this wasn't FlightAware from 2006 - we'd have had an entire thread on just this Falcon !!!!

One thing about it I forgot to mention/ask, is when it was on final, the pilot called in as "Tango-november-seven-seven-one-romeo-sierra" I've never heard the Tango part in front of anything?

I'll assume they were referring to ATIS (Automatic Terminal Information System), when you first contact approach and let them know you've listened to the current ATIS and your tail number.

ie; N771RS with you with information Tango . . . rob

Still ... wicked paint scheme - wonder if the have an exotic car to match!!! I would :)

The tower responded the same way, Tango-N771RS. I'll try looking at ATC Live later as I heard it multiple times, no other aircraft used 'Tango' in front of their callsign. It's on it's way now to KCRP with a return trip to KSAT this afternoon, clear blue skies today!

Tango is for air taxi operators but very few actually use it.

The "tango" prefix came after 9/11 and as porterjet said you rarely hear it anymore.
