It would be great to have a nexrad overlay with the new mapping system. Animated would be even better.

With historic flights, it should show the historic weather for that time.

Definitely adding nexrad data is on the list for features we're going to offer as soon as we roll out our new mapping service. We hadn't planned on doing historic nexrad displays, but definitely it's a good idea that we'll keep in mind.
