MLB: Washington Nationals are now getting charter service from DAL (DAL8895). The past few years were with Miami Air (BSK299/399) but this link shows activity of DAL8895 which correlates to the Nat's 2011 schedule: http://flightaware.com/live/flight/DAL8895

What I find interesting is that DAL sent a A320 from ATL to DCA under this flight number, then flew from DCA to STL, then back to ATL also using DAL8895. I doubt the first and third legs were pax-revenue flights, so DAL flew three legs to service their charter client for one leg. Just to be clear I fully understand that DAL doesn't have a dedicated charter fleet so they must pull aircraft out of the network to do these charters an dthen get it back into the flow ASAP. I'm just not clear how much it costs. Pretty pricey and I'm not quite sure who pays the extra cost but my guess is the Nationals will pick up the tab at some point.

For some reason the Cubs took UAL1876 instead of their usual UAL9907.

White Sox must have used a different number too

The Athletics changed their flight # from the swiftflights to N801DM for a couple trips. But are now back on Swiftflight from Seattle TO Tampa Bay.

Strange. Maybe no Swiftflights were available.

They flew MLW Aviation. N801DM is owned by MLW with crew provided by Swift Air.

At the bottom of their home page:

SWIFT had to ground their fleet for awhile do to pilot training issues/FAA. They had to find last minute alternate travel for their clients
