Civil Engineer, Land Surveyor -- Flying is a life long dream hobby caused by growing up during the bust part of the space program, sky king reruns and whirly bird tv.

I am a Traveling Chef for Amtrak. Yes, the railroad. When I'm down here I like to think about being up there. :-)

Like n292c, my background is in civil engineering, but I'm currently employed as a landscape designer for a construction company that specializes in high end residential work (mostly in the Kiawah Island, SC area). My lifelong dream is to have a career in some facet of the aviation industry though, and I find myself staring at the sky quite often.

Retired Boeing (via MDC) systems engineer. Now I can do what I want to do.

Maintain and occasionally add to my website: www.airfieldsdatabase.com so if you are interesting in airfields - check out my website. Especially if you are interested in WW2. It is the most comprehensive listing of airfields used in the USA by the military in WW2. Also CAA/FAA intermediates and a number of states, but maintaining the states is very time consuming so it is doubtful I will add anymore.

Just saw this one - yea, some of these one-weekend-a-year Kiawah residents spend lots and lots of money to make that sand and sea grass go away and replace it with... well, very expensive outdoor spaces that don't include sand and sea grasses. I could post some pics to explain, but I'm not sure if there's something like HIPAA laws that apply to my line of work and would rather not become unemployed - not just yet anyway.

(the extremely wealthy seem to value their privacy I've noticed)

No laws to make it illegal, but career damaging for sure. And I've probably seen and admired some of your work around JZI.

So, posting pics may be just the foot in the a$$ I need to jumpstart a new career... Anyway, yea - if you come into JZI, then you no doubt have seen some of my work. Our company does work from Savannah to Myrtle Beach, with 90% of it located on Kiawah. My office is located only about 10 mins from there.

Can't believe nobody posted this so I can be a piano player in a house of ill repute. Wouldn't want my Momma to know I was a pilot. And who started taking this seriously. It's like keeping score, it promotes cheating!
