waypoints, locations, flight times

Is there anyone subscribed to FA that can give me details of (1) how to tell where a particular waypoint is on the globe (2) the flight time between waypoints (3) how an air navigation system works, briefly (4) how the inflight entertainment ‘moving map’ is coded to move along with the airplane’s travel?
Any assistance would be great.

This may not be of much help.
Skyvector.com displays VFR charts, enroute charts (which has some waypoints listed), and other information.
With apologies for parochialism, there are posts under Discussions: General that include one “FAA publications for use with Flightware” that I have found helpful for sorting out some of my questions. It’s a start.
