Is there a FlightAware Android App available?

I was looking around the site and stumbled across a page describing the android app. It even had a video with a cute girl describing the app. I can't seem to find the page anymore and I can't find the app on the market.

Please search the forum before starting new threads.

We have an Android app currently in development and a private beta ongoing with the community.

I wonder how you found the product page for it, the page shouldn't be public yet.

I'm not sure how I found the page, I can't find it anymore though.

Is the beta still open for signup? I found a link to the application in an earlier post, but it just goes to the mobile page.

Looks like it has been closed now. We're getting close to a public release.

@mduell

Any chance you can give an ETA for the public release?

Can't find it in the market.

Either my location (Canada) or my phone (Nexus One) doesn't fit the filters (or maybe it's just not live yet).

Edit: Scratch that, it finally showed up, installing as we speak :)

I thought that I had posted this but I cant find a record of it.

My Evo 4g keeps experiencing a force close when I try to show a map. Everything else is fine so far.

Any ideas?

The app itself is excellent. Thank you

Can you capture a debug log with either ddms on your computer or download alogcat from the market on your device?

We have a Evo 4G in the office and the maps are working fine on it.

Yes, we've been releasing 1-3 updates/day to the market. Please check that you're up to date when reporting bugs.

I'm so glad to finally have Flightaware on my Android phone. I do have 2 feature requests:

1) when I select one of my "favorite" airports, can you please distinguish flights to/from that airports from flights that are simply flying in the vicinity? On flightaware.com flights to/from the airport are colored blue and others nearby are green. Seems like this would be a very useful feature that is easy to implement.

2) Can you expand the "nearby" radius a little? Oftentimes I'll see a plane appearing over the horizon so I fire up the app to see what plane it is. But it won't show up yet on the map until the plane is much, much closer. Seems like at a minimum "nearby" would show planes I can see in the sky.

Other than that I love the app, good work devs.

Could you please add an option to turn sound notifications on & off? Maybe even a timed option for a "quiet time" ie. 2300-0700

I realize this thread is old, but I couldn't find another place for an app request.

Would it be possible to make it so that you are able to pick your own notification sound? As it stands it uses whatever sound you have selected as the default notification for the Android system--so you can't distinguish the difference between a Flight Aware notification and a system notification.

If there's a better or different place to make an app request could somebody point me towards it? I was unable to find one.
