I would like to see google maps used as the mapping system. I had considered building a flight tracking tool using it but could not find where to recieve the feeds. Also, here is a great website for pilots that uses google maps. runwayfinder.com
We considered using Google Maps or Microsoft Virtual Earth, but they don’t provide the flexibility we wanted (to overlay nexrad, plot flight tracks, overlay text, etc).
Also, using the NASA cloudless earth as the background (coming soon) looks a lot better than Google’s hodgepodge of satellite and aerial photos.
