It was in the report where the pilots stated they had encountered windshear during the approach...the pilots never mentioned the significant amount of ice they had accumulated as a possible cause, in fact, they mentioned it was a trace amount, despite what line personnel attested too.


Well, that's actually why I asked. I was based at BVY when that happened and had a flight the day after the incident. There was LOTs of scuttlebut going around the airport as to what had happened. :roll:

Which report are you referring to that states the windshear?

The below link (posted earlier), provides a wealth of information and links to news articles, NTSB Reports, and Foreign Government Accident Reports. Anyone that states this company had no issues can't dispute the facts...and there are many...all of which point to a company with serious issues that were not isolated to one single base of operations.

It almost makes one wonder if the FAA 'tanked' their case? It is hard to believe the Tampa FSDO was providing adequate oversight of Air Trek, based on their abysmal safety record.

Nope,

All aircraft on ATs certificate are owned and operated by the company (they are not a management company).

Training and maintenance is conducted at the company directly by the owners or under their direct supervision.

The north base was a great place. Yes it had it's problems but it was on the up and up. Airtrek as a whole was not a bad company but it could have been better.
I hope they can get there stuff together and get back up and running.

After 5 years of Florida charter positions, I now have answers to those questions in interviews:

Q: What is your greatest accomplishment in aviation to date?

A: Surviving 5 years in south Florida 135 ops with no accidents/incidents or violations.

Where there is smoke there is fire or one about to start.
The longer you spend in the system the better your skill become at answering questions.

Atleast they had/have a certificate which is more than I can say for all the 134.5 operators. No doubt prior experience has helped them respond to allagation.

I talked to the guy that shut them down. Sounded like the head had no clue the tale was waggin'
