Last of DC-3's to fly out for good in Long Beach

The one remaining DC-3, that flies back and forth between Long Beach and Catalina Island ferrying supplies, is going down to South Africa to serve out its remaining days as a humanitarian aid plane. There has been another plane sitting here in Long Beach for a long time that wasn’t usable anymore. They used it for parts. Both are leaving. They will now use a couple of Cessna Caravans to fly to Catalina.

That is such sad news. The DC3’s made the skies over Long Beach so classy.
