FAA is still closed

So… our office just called the Lincoln FSDO to get a ferry permit for one of our airplanes.

We were told that they (The FSDO Office) have all been brought back to work, are being paid, but have been instructed by DC that they are only there for the purposes of accident investigation until further notice. No ferry permits, check rides, etc. etc. etc.

When we asked what we should do, she said “Call your congressman? This is the craziest thing we’ve ever seen.”

I have reached out to other aviation professionals this afternoon, and all the FSDO’s across the country are telling people the same thing.

WTF?

Sequester and Furloughs are still a factor for the FAA

Back to the “Wild West” it sounds like. I wouldn’t be surprised if a few aircraft get moved without the proper paperwork, since no one is checking.
