Hey guys, I was thinking about some good topics, and since I am an American Airlines frequent flier, I decided to ask for anyones opinion on the future fleet. Since they merged with USAir, it will probably change. Any guesses?
They have 737’s and A319’s and A321’s on order and will probably keep it that way. The larger narrowbody fleet will allow them to retire the MD-80’s a little faster than planned.
The A330’s will likely be phased out a little earlier than initially planned, but that’s a long-term thing. Alternatively, the 767’s could be retired faster than planed and the A330’s used to backfill some of that capacity.
I don’t see any drastic or immediate changes though.
