Gotta' be a false memory, the C-124 didn't have the legs for that trip nonstop.

SIA21 JFK-SIA onboard the Airbus 346.

Never flew it myself, but have spotted it from the ground 1/3 of the way to SIN over Oslo, Norway. At times it routes over here.

I guess the Singapore Airlines 021 is still the world's longest nonstop flight. And the only one to fly on in the same direction (east) on its "return" flight! Carrying on in the same direction gives a new meaning to the "return-flight" consept.

18,5 hours seated would be at the health risk limit for some people. Therefore meals are not served at the seats, and passengers are encouraged to walk around and have their food at the galley. A layout of the aircraft is at the SIA website.

SQ21 does not fly from JFK, but EWR. Meals are also served at the seats. Passengers are also not allowed to be in the galley, let alone to dine in there. There is a little communal area with some snacks though. That said, SQ21 is my longest flight.

TJSJ-LEMD; that'll be San Juan, Puerto Rico - Madrid Barajas, Spain. 12:50 hours in an A340, got sick halfway, slept like a baby.

On the flight to Oshkosh from San Francisco - 10 hours day 1 (with one stop) plus 2 more the next morning. Most of it over moonscapes or corn fields (though the flight directly over Mt. Rushmore was amazing).

Longest military was from Mildenhall to Malmstrom AFB Montana on a KC-135R, that was 11 1/2 hours.

Longest Commercial was just two weeks ago. MSP-HNL on NW 809 Airbus A333. Expected time was 8hrs 12mins...I timed actual from wheels up to touchdown as 7hrs 54mins...3967 miles. Brand new bird, just delivered January of this year, it was a sweet ride.

Hello from another new guy. My longest flight was from Atlanta to Tel Aviv, Israel on a Delta 777. 12 hours or a little less both ways non stop. Great routing as we flew over Rome and Paris.

ORD-HKG on UA 895 usually about 15.5hrs. I was doing that every other month last summer. Total 24 hrs travel from when I left my house to when I got to the hotel in Macau.

Your post reminded me of the 747SP flight that I used to take from LAX to Sydney. It was a specially modified 747 that had about 30-40% of the fuselage omitted so that it could make what was then the longest non-stop commercial flight in the world. Depending on the winds and weather, sometimes it would land in Sydney and sometimes in Northern Australia.

KOKC TO PHNL & back 1999

Don't remember what airline & only stop was KSFO both ways - just glad I got there & back.

Other longest flight was cross country with CFI in C172 that had an electrical failure - sure seemed like a long long time to me to get back home & wonder what was going to happen next - when all the time my CFI (navy E6-B) was grilling me about procedures & what I will/would do if he wasn't with me. I assured him I would not turn the engine off - that as long as that prop was turning I was heading home.  :D

Although I crossed the Pacific a few times, I think the longest flight I've suffered was CYQB-CYYZ

The flight lasted about an hour and a half, but keep in mind the fact that my ex-wife was seated just a few rows back...
