Joined: Sun Jun 03, 2012 12:23 pm Posts: 3	..........United flight 21 from Manchester UK to [b]Newark was diverted to Boston - seems that they've now flown from BOS to EWR, but got 5 friends (on route to Vegas) on the flight & I can't contact them at the moment. New to the site so not too sure if I've posted on correct forum, apologies if I haven't & thanks for any info

Airline diversions have a million reasons, generally if CNN doesn't have a helicopter covering it live it is probably a mundane reason. Your friends will likely fill you in before it makes the news.

FlightAware Member Joined: Wed Oct 20, 2010 4:00 pm Posts: 73 Location: Toronto	I just listened in on Boston ATC recordings - nothing out of the ordinary regarding their approach and landing so nothing wrong with the aircraft. There was even some friendly banter about what the weather was like in Manchester. It's possible poor weather in Newark caused the diversion and the 757 couldn't afford to hold and wait. I don't know for sure though.
